Dr. Trish Propson
Certified Biblical Counselor
About
Trish is a Certified Biblical Counselor and Biblical Traumatologist who holds a Doctorate in Strategic Christian Ministry from Liberty University and a Certification in Biblical Counseling from Southwestern Theological Seminary. She has also earned dual Master’s Degrees in Pastoral Counseling and Ministry Leadership. She is a Board Certified Christian Mental Health Coach which allows her to additionally provide group and individual coaching services. Her work with trauma response, sexual abuse, and domestic violence moved her to become an ordained crisis response Chaplain which has allowed her to work with trauma survivors from a biblical perspective.
Enduring her own life of childhood sexual abuse, and sexual exploitation as a teen and young adult, Trish has spent her entire adult life working with others to find healing in the complex and often misunderstood issue of sexual trauma. You can hear her full story here, https://illuminatetheissue.org/meet-trish.
In her private counseling practice, Trish specializes in helping those impacted by sexual abuse and exploitation. She specializes in sexual abuse recovery and restoration, to help survivors find healing from its lifelong impact. She works primarily with adult women and families in crisis. Trish helps clients walk through a proven recovery and restoration process to understand how their abuse impacted their past, how it affects their present life and relationships, and how to move forward into the abundant future God has for them. She believes that true healing and transformation from sexual trauma comes from God and his plan to reclaim the identity and purpose he had for his children prior to abuse.
Trish also works extensively with women in domestic violence situations and women facing destructive Christian marriages. Trish will work with couples interested in strengthening their marriages and families who need help working through high conflict and emotional trauma.
