About
For over 17 years, it’s been a privilege for me to be a therapist. My passion is helping clients heal from different types of stressors, relational issues, and traumas (PTSD, complex-developmental, generational, attachment, religious, etc). These issues often lead to symptoms of anxiety, depression, impulsive/addictive behaviors, eating disorders, and personality disorders – all which I have experience and success in working with. I also have been doing trainings in sex, porn, and love addiction for the past 10 years. I am only doing Telehealth (virtual therapy) at this time and can see clients who live in Virginia.
I treat these issues with therapy techniques that are proven to help: cognitive-behavioral (CBT), mindfulness, and acceptance approaches (DBT). For clients who are struggling to change, I offer “motivational interviewing”. For issues that require deeper work, I use Attachment-Focused EMDR (more developmental and attachment based than standard EMDR).
My master’s degrees was from a seminary, in which I learned how to integrate evidenced based psychological treatment with a Christian worldview. I enjoy talking about faith issues and helping people grown in their faith and utilizing faith to support therapy work. It is important that you find a therapist you feel comfortable and safe with. Clients find me warm, trustworthy, committed and professional, yet relatable and genuine. Please reach out, if you would like to learn new coping skills & heal underlying issues.
