“He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted… to comfort all who mourn… to bestow on them a crown of beauty instead of ashes.”
— Isaiah 61:1–3 (NIV)

As I prayed about whether to pursue graduate school and become a counselor, Isaiah 61:1–3 came alive to me in a deeply personal way. I sensed the Lord confirming what He had already been stirring in my heart: a calling to walk with hurting people, offer hope to the brokenhearted, and point others toward healing and freedom in Christ. Before entering professional counseling, I served in women’s ministry, high school ministry, and lay counseling, where I saw firsthand how faithfully God meets people in their pain with compassion, truth, and love.

In 2014, I attended Liberty University to pursue that calling more fully and to learn how to integrate biblical truth with sound clinical practice. Since then, I have been trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, EMDR, STAR, and DBT-informed therapy. Having worked in both Christian and secular settings, I am grateful for the therapeutic tools that support healing and growth. My faith remains the foundation of who I am, and I believe lasting healing is deeply connected to truth, hope, and the restoring presence of Jesus Christ.

“Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead. I press on toward the goal…”

Philippians 3:12–14 has also been a guiding passage in my life. Long before I knew I would become a counselor, the Lord used those verses to teach me how to keep moving forward—away from past pain and toward the hope and purpose I have in Him. That personal journey has deeply shaped the way I counsel today. I believe each person has the capacity to learn healthier ways of coping with life’s challenges, and because all truth is God’s truth, I value integrating effective therapeutic tools with biblical wisdom. My goal is to offer a caring, non-judgmental space where healing, growth, and restoration can take place, and where clients are empowered to live an abundant life with Christ.
