My approach is client centered and has enabled me to view the therapeutic relationship as a significant agent of change for those seeking to work on long standing life issues or every day difficulties. My counseling style combines psychodynamic and cognitive-behavioral interventions, depending on the unique needs of the individuals and couples in my practice (bilingual/English & Spanish speaking). This combination produces an emphatic relationship with my clients that motivates, encourages and inspires them to look inward at much needed changes as well as developing practical approaches to help create those changes. I strive to create an atmosphere of acceptance and a safe place that fosters exploration, change and growth. I am certified by the International Critical Incident Stress Foundation (ICISF), which rounds out my work with post traumatic stress issues that negatively impact relationships, communication, life transitions/changes and everyday functioning. I hold a Biblical Counseling certificate from Living Word Bible College (Pasadena, CA.), and work with individuals and couples that are interested in combining the Christian biblical principles of their faith with the psychological aspects of their issues through Christian counseling.  I am a Licensed Individual, Marriage & Family Therapist with over 20 years experience.
