I am passionate about understanding psychology through the lens of scripture.  I have taught psychology through a Christian perspective in Christian colleges for 20 years and engaged in providing therapy along side my teaching career. I am currently only doing therapy.  I named my practice “Anchor Counseling” based on the passage in Hebrews 6 where it states that God’s promises are an anchor for our soul.

I am holistic in my work.  For me, this means that I want to consider the truth of science and the truth of scripture in my work to help people heal and seek guidance as they work through the complex issues of life.  More specifically, I believe in considering the biological basis of our humanity, the psychological reality of cognition, emotion, will, personality, etc., and the spiritual basis of who we are as persons made in the image of God.  As relational persons, relationships our foundational to understanding our trauma, struggles, and our healing.

My work incorporates sound psychological practice integrated through the truth of God’s word.  God has a desire for our lives and our relationships to mirror his work and redemptive work.  I look forward to meeting you and assisting you work through the struggles that you see help with.  I have experience working with children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families.  I work with a range of mental health, relationship, family, sexual, and spiritual issues.
