I hold a Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of West Alabama, am a National Certified Counselor (NCC), and a licensed counselor in the State of Ohio. I also hold a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Capella University and bring a diverse professional background to my work as a counselor.

For more than fourteen years, I have had the privilege of serving in youth ministry, mentoring at-risk adolescents in the community and within my home congregation. I have also served as a Ministry Director, in a paid role in my home congregation.  These experiences, along with my clinical training, have shaped my belief in addressing the whole person and recognizing the important role that faith, relationships, life experiences, and personal values can play in emotional health and healing.

My approach to Christian counseling integrates a Christian worldview with evidence-based clinical practices. When desired by the client, I incorporate biblical principles, exploration of faith and spiritual values, and Scripture to support the therapeutic process. I believe faith and sound clinical practice can work together rather than exist as separate approaches to healing.

Clinically, I use an integrative approach drawing from Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Therapy, Family Systems, and other approaches. I am EMDR trained through an EMDRIA-approved training program and use trauma-informed principles to help clients understand how past experiences, patterns of thinking, relationships, and current circumstances may be affecting their well-being.

I strive to provide a counseling environment where clients can explore difficult experiences with honesty and compassion while developing practical tools for meaningful change. For clients who desire faith-integrated counseling, we can also explore how their relationship with God, biblical truth, and spiritual practices can serve as sources of guidance, meaning, hope, and resilience throughout the counseling process.
