My name is Shawn Tessmer, I am a Christ Follower, a husband of one wife, a father, and a mental health counselor. I became a Christian at age 17 after a High School classmate witnessed the Gospel to me. Shortly after becoming born again The Lord placed a call on my life to work as a counselor.
For client’s who opt into Christian Counseling, I seek to assess where they are in their spiritual maturity; and to use Biblical concepts and scripture appropriate to where they are in their sanctification.
I have a down-to-earth counseling approach. I was raised in Iowa in a farming family. In being myself, I bring the homey, warm, and pragmatic approach learned from my working class roots. I am also willing to lovingly push my clients when I feel they are stalling in their growth or when holiness issues are present.
I certainly hope to be privileged with the opportunity to walk with you toward seeking emotional and spiritual health.
