If there’s one thing I’ve learned, it’s that God has a way of growing the deepest roots through the hardest seasons.

My early experiences marked the beginning of a season filled with grief, uncertainty, and questions about my identity and worth. I searched for significance in places that could never truly satisfy and eventually reached a point where I attempted to end my own life.

Looking back now, I see God’s faithfulness woven throughout every chapter of my story. He met me in my brokenness—not by erasing my pain, but by redeeming it. Over time, He began transforming the places where I once felt shame, fear, and hopelessness into places of compassion, resilience, and purpose.

Before becoming a counselor, I spent years serving in ministry as a worship pastor and church staff member. Those experiences gave me a deep love for walking alongside people in life’s most difficult moments. As I continued serving others, I sensed God leading me toward professional counseling as another way to participate in His work of restoration. Today, I don’t see ministry and counseling as separate callings—they are simply two expressions of the same desire: to help people encounter hope, healing, and lasting transformation.

The vision behind Seed & Soil Counseling is deeply rooted in Luke 8:4–15, the Parable of the Sower. I love Jesus’ picture of the seed being the same, while the condition of the soil determines how it grows. I’ve found that people are much the same. We aren’t meant to force growth through striving—we flourish when we’re planted in an environment of safety, truth, and connection. My hope is to help cultivate that kind of “good soil,” where healing can take root and lasting transformation can begin.

My faith shapes who I am long before it shapes what I do.

I believe every person is created in the image of God and possesses inherent dignity, value, and worth. Because of that, every client deserves to be met with compassion, curiosity, and genuine respect—regardless of their background, beliefs, or life experiences.

My counseling approach is grounded in attachment theory, trauma-informed care, nervous system regulation, and other evidence-based practices. I don’t see science and faith as competing with one another. Rather, I believe they beautifully complement each other. Research helps us understand how healing occurs, while Scripture reminds us why we long for healing in the first place.

When clients desire it, I thoughtfully incorporate prayer, Scripture, and biblical reflection into our work together. For others, my faith is expressed through the way I care for them—with patience, humility, compassion, and a commitment to creating a space where they feel safe enough to be fully known.

One of the deepest convictions I carry is that healing happens in safe, meaningful relationship. Attachment research tells us we are wired for secure connection, and I believe that reflects the heart of our Creator. God designed us for relationship—with Him and with one another. While counseling cannot replace faith, I hope the therapeutic relationship can become a place where clients begin experiencing trust, safety, grace, and hope in tangible ways.

My prayer is that every person who walks through the doors of Seed & Soil Counseling leaves knowing they are not beyond hope. I believe healing is possible. I believe redemption is real. And I believe that, with healthy soil, even the smallest seed can grow into something beautiful.
