Ryan Berg
Board Certified Christian Counselor, Personal/Life Coach, Marriage and Premarital Counselor, Certified Biblical Counselor
About
Before stepping into this role, I spent 14 years as a pastor and counselor. I sat with a lot of people in hard places, and I learned that most of us don’t need a lecture. We need someone who will listen well, tell us the truth gently, and walk with us towards the relief the Gospel offers. In my own story, that is precisely what God used to help me find healing and wholeness.
A few verses guide much of what I do. In 1 Corinthians 6:11, after listing the sins of the Corinthian church, Paul writes, And such were some of you. But you were washed. I love that verse because your past and your struggles don’t get the last word. Jesus does. Proverbs 20:5 says the purposes of the heart are like deep water, and wise people draw them out; as well as 2 Corinthians 1:4 remind me that I comfort others with the same comfort God has given me.
In our sessions, faith isn’t a quick fix or a Bible verse slapped on your pain. We’ll look at what’s going on in your heart, how God’s truth speaks to it, and what real next steps look like. Prayer and Scripture are part of that, always at a pace that feels right to you; as are proven helpful wise therapeutic tools that can be incredibly helpful as someone seeks to become more like Christ in the midst of hard things that they might be experiencing.
I’m a Board Certified Pastoral Counselor (BCPC), AACC-certified in biblical counseling, addiction recovery, and marriage and family, and a certified Christian trauma care provider (CTCP). Outside the office, I’m usually reading, playing pickleball, or enjoying a Kentucky basketball game.
