About

My Christian faith is foundational to how I understand both my life and my work. After spending two decades in pastoral ministry, I came to see counseling as another expression of the same calling: to love God and “love your neighbor as yourself” (Mark 12:30–31). For me, counseling is one of the primary ways I now have the privilege of living out that calling—coming alongside people in places of pain, struggle, disconnection, and uncertainty.

I’m also deeply drawn to the biblical picture of a God who “heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds” (Psalm 147:3). I don’t see myself as the source of that healing. Rather, I hope counseling can become one of the places where people experience God’s compassion and healing as they better understand themselves, tend to old wounds, strengthen their relationships, and move toward greater wholeness.

When clients desire faith integration, I’m comfortable exploring how their relationship with God, Scripture, prayer, spiritual practices, church experiences, and beliefs intersect with what they’re experiencing. I believe good clinical work and Christian faith can complement one another without reducing complicated emotional pain to a Bible verse or assuming that psychological struggles reflect inadequate faith.

I also want counseling to be a place where Christians can be completely honest. That includes making room for doubt, anger, shame, disappointment with God, painful church experiences, or questions that don’t have easy answers. My hope is to meet people with the kind of grace, truth, curiosity, and compassion that I see modeled in Jesus, while using sound therapeutic practices to help them move toward healing, connection, and a more integrated life.
