Romans 15:13  May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.

Psalm 22:24  For he has not despised or scorned the suffering of the afflicted one; he has not hidden his face from him but has listened to his cry for help.

Our God does not turn his face from our suffering, and I consider it an honor to sit with others in their stories, to listen to their cries for help, and to walk alongside in finding hope.  I seek to create an open and safe place for clients to process the challenges in their lives.  My basic approach to counseling is client-centered, and I use techniques from cognitive based theories, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), and play therapy.  Grief, transitions, spiritual growth, and church hurt are areas of special interest. I also have experience with adolescents, anxiety, depression, and boundary identification. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate in South Carolina with a master’s degree in clinical counseling from Gordon Conwell Theological Seminary. My bachelor’s degree is in Family Studies (Human Development) from Messiah University. [NCC in process. NC Licensure in process.]

Special note: As a mom of kids with disabilities, I have a heart for counseling those with disabilities and their families. Though our historic building is not accessible, I make arrangements at another facility to see clients who need wheelchair accessibility.
