About
As a Christian therapist, my faith in Jesus Christ and my biblical worldview are foundational to how I understand people, suffering, healing, and growth. I believe Scripture is the inspired and authoritative Word of God and serves as the ultimate foundation for truth.
For clients seeking Christian counseling, I begin with foundational questions: Who is God? Who are you in relation to Him? What does it mean to understand your identity in Christ? We may also explore what Scripture teaches about suffering, the renewal of the mind, spiritual growth, and spiritual warfare. Establishing this foundation helps us understand emotional and psychological struggles within the larger context of biblical truth.
From there, I integrate evidence-based therapeutic approaches that align with Scripture and the client’s clinical needs. Depending on the presenting concerns, I may draw from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Positive Psychology, and other evidence-based interventions. I value psychological research and clinical science while evaluating therapeutic concepts through a biblical Christian worldview. Scripture remains my ultimate authority.
Christian integration may include prayer, Scripture, examination of thoughts and beliefs in light of biblical truth, identity in Christ, spiritual disciplines, and conversations about spiritual warfare when clinically and spiritually appropriate. As a therapist, I also believe it is important to carefully distinguish psychological symptoms from spiritual concerns rather than assuming that every mental health struggle is spiritual in origin.
Passages that particularly guide my work include Romans 12:2 on the renewal of the mind, Philippians 4:8 on directing our minds toward what is true, Ephesians 6:10–18 on spiritual warfare, and Colossians 3:1–4 on our identity and life in Christ.
My goal as a therapist is to provide clinically responsible, evidence-based treatment without asking Christian clients to separate their faith from their mental health care. I want clients to have a space where biblical truth is taken seriously, psychological concerns are treated competently, and lasting hope is ultimately grounded in Jesus Christ.
