About

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor currently offering Telehealth only sessions. I received my bachelors in Psychology from Northern Arizona University (NAU) and my Masters in Professional Counseling from Grand Canyon University (GCU). I enjoy working with adults of all ages in individual therapy and I have a special interest in anxiety, self-esteem, PTSD, grief, life transitions, post-partum and mental health with endurance athletes.

My primary therapeutic approach consists of a person-centered, holistic approach to therapy and also incorporates other modalities including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). I have additional training certificates in Perinatal and Postpartum Mood Disorders, EMDR and am certified in Grief Affirming Practice (GAP).

I believe in the value and importance of the therapeutic relationship and aim to build strong rapport and trust with my clients. It is important to me to provide a non-judgmental environment and support for clients to work through adverse life events and general struggles.

Do you agree that counseling is not fully Christian if a counselor’s faith shapes their posture but not their methods?

Yes

Do you agree that the deepest personal help a person needs cannot be fully received apart from faith in Christ, even through counseling?

Yes

Do you agree that Scripture speaks authoritatively to the deepest roots of human problems?

Yes

Do you agree that it is not appropriate to support or affirm a client’s chosen course of action when it conflicts with Scripture, even in the name of autonomy?

No

Why?

That would be unethical. I believe that client's need to make their own choices and decisions. I will not tell them what to do based on what I believe if it conflicts with what they believe. Their life is their life, and I will support them with what they believe is right for themselves. It's not my place to put my own beliefs on a client to try and change their mind or direction. If they make a choice based on what I tell them to do and it goes poorly, that could hurt rapport and the therapeutic relationship.

Do you agree that people do not possess all the internal resources needed for truth and healing apart from God, regardless of insight, support, or time?

Yes
