I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in the state of Iowa, having worked in the field for over 15 years. I am also a National Board Certified Counselor and a member of the American Association of Christian Counselors. I received my Master’s Degree in community counseling from the University of Nebraska—Omaha.

I work with adolescents (age 10 and up), teens, adults, families, and marriages to decrease distress and hopefully work myself out of a job.  My view on therapy is that I don’t want to become a crutch or cause you to be dependent on me. You are capable of change and growth, which we will work towards, but I will also meet you exactly where you are on that journey.

I have been a Christian for all of my adult life, but my clients come from all walks of life and beliefs. I will tailor the therapy approach to what the client wants and is comfortable with. That can range from utilizing Bible passages and the applications on a day to day basis as well as scripture focused homework. It can also mean God is never discussed in session, but allows parents peace of mind knowing their preteen/teen won’t be experiencing worldly advice.

Personally, my two favorite Bible verses are Galatians 6:9 and Philippians 4:8.
