Hi, my name is Mayra, and I am the owner and founder of New Beginnings Christian Counseling. My heart for counseling comes from my own journey of experiencing God’s healing, grace, and restoration. I have seen firsthand how the Lord can renew our minds, restore what is broken, and bring hope into even the most painful seasons. It is a privilege to now walk alongside others as they pursue that same healing in Christ.

A foundational scripture that guides my work is Romans 12:2, which reminds us to be transformed by the renewing of our minds. I also often reflect on 2 Corinthians 10:5, which calls us to take every thought captive and make it obedient to Christ. These truths are central to how I approach therapy, especially when helping clients navigate negative and intrusive thoughts.

In our daily lives, we are often flooded with thoughts that can lead to anxiety, fear, and disconnection. I believe many of these thoughts are rooted in lies that can impact how we see ourselves, others, and God. My role is to help you recognize those lies, replace them with Biblical truth, and move toward the healing and freedom God desires for you.

In sessions, I integrate Biblical teachings with evidence-based approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and trauma-informed care, including EMDR techniques. This allows us to address both the spiritual and emotional aspects of healing—challenging negative thought patterns, processing past wounds, and developing healthier ways to cope and grow.

As a bilingual Spanish-speaking therapist, I work with children (8+), individuals, couples, and families. I have a heart for supporting those who struggle with anxiety, trauma, grief, perfectionism, people-pleasing, and relationship challenges.

My desire is to serve the body of Christ by creating a safe, compassionate space where you can experience healing, restoration, and deeper connection with God and others. I look forward to walking alongside you and your family on this journey.
