Mara Grace is a dedicated military veteran with eight years of service in the Army. After her military career, Mara pursued her passion for psychology and crisis counseling, earning her bachelor’s degree from Liberty University in 2015. Recognizing her calling to help individuals on a deeper level, she furthered her education by obtaining a master’s in professional counseling in 2020 and is currently pursuing her doctorate in community care with a specialization in traumatology.

Mara’s experience includes serving as a mental health counselor in Volusia County, Florida for three years and as a board member for the Open Doors Counseling Network in 2023. Over the past four years, she has been practicing in Palm Coast, Florida where she has developed her own practice, Mara Grace Counseling, LLC. Her practice is dedicated to providing comprehensive mental health services while equipping master-level interns with both clinical and administrative skills. Mara’s commitment to helping trauma survivors, particularly in overcoming guilt and shame while fostering reconnection with faith and loved ones, informs her approach to both counseling and supervision.

Jesus is my foundation; my values are shaped by His teachings and His life. His command to love God with all my heart and to love my neighbor as myself defines how I interact with the world. I strive to embody compassion, justice, honesty, and grace, not out of obligation, but as a reflection of the transformation He has worked within me. His words guide me, His sacrifice humbles me, and His resurrection gives me hope. I know that by walking in His footsteps, I walk a path that honors God and brings light into the world.

While Jesus is my foundation, the Holy Spirit is my compass. In moments of uncertainty, the Spirit gently nudges me toward the path of righteousness. When I am tempted to stray or falter, He reminds me of God’s truth and strengthens me to remain steadfast. “But when He, the Spirit of truth, comes, He will guide you into all the truth.” (John 16:13) The Spirit sharpens my conscience, helping me discern right from wrong and convicting me when I fall short of the values I uphold. He fills my heart with wisdom and equips me to make choices that glorify God, even when those choices are difficult or countercultural.
