Many of the women I work with are trying to do all the “right things.” They show up, pray, serve others, and try their best to stay strong, but underneath, they feel exhausted, unseen, and quietly overwhelmed. Some carry silent grief, like longing for a child, grieving the loss of identity, or feeling emotionally alone in their relationships. They are dependable, faith-filled, and others-focused, yet often feel like they are falling short and not good enough. My role is to walk alongside them in a way that is warm, honest, and rooted in lasting healing rather than quick fixes.

This work is deeply personal to me. I was born and raised in Guatemala and grew up Catholic, but I didn’t truly know Jesus. I spent years striving for perfection through good grades, sports, and leadership, while hiding behind pressure and partying. After coming to the US to play college golf, those patterns only intensified. The summer before my junior year, I had a real encounter with Jesus that began to change everything. Three years later, in August 2013, I fully gave my life to Him.

Since then, God has been reshaping my heart and teaching me what it means to abide in Him. I started serving in youth ministry, which eventually led me to becoming a counselor. Through my own seasons of pain, loss, and unanswered prayers, including a miscarriage and ongoing fertility struggles, God gave me a new compassion for those walking through silent grief and deeply personal sorrow. That journey has shaped both my heart and the way I practice.

Some of the Scriptures that guide me in life and in my work include Isaiah 43:1-4, Psalm 23, Psalm 91, Proverbs 3:5-6, Isaiah 55, and Isaiah 53:5. I believe healing involves the whole person: mind, body, and spirit. Faith integration is an important part of that process. For some, it looks like praying in session or meditating on a passage of Scripture. For others, it means inviting the Holy Spirit into the pain and gently replacing lies with God’s truth.

One thing I often say is, “God is not afraid of your honesty. He meets you right where you are, not where you think you should be.” Whether you are holding grief, perfectionism, loss, or just trying to keep it all together, you do not have to carry it alone.
