About
Lori Barstow White holds a master’s degree in counselor education from the University of Alabama (1996). She is also a Board Certified Christian Counselor (BCCC) through the International Board of Christian Care (IBCC) and a member of the American Association of Christian Counselors.
After graduate school, Lori served in student services at the University of Alabama and enjoyed a productive career working with college students in a variety of areas. She was a professional advisor and the Director of Advising in the Culverhouse College of Business Administration for fifteen years, then transitioned to the Director of Student Services for the MBA program in the Manderson Graduate School of Business for ten years. Lori has advised and counseled college students in the classroom, through study/travel programs, in student organizations, via residential life programs, and everything in between. After 25 years at UA, Lori retired in 2022 to pursue a more focused career in counseling. Lori’s practice includes older teens and adults of all ages, but she has a special place in her heart for college students and young adults.
Lori’s focus is to provide Christ-centered, clinical counseling to help the client develop spiritually, emotionally, and mentally toward a more abundant life. Her style of counseling is relational and personal with an emphasis on spiritual disciplines. Lori is accepting new clients. Lori’s rates for a 50-minute counseling session are $100.00 and you can book a session with her today by emailing Lori@fortifychristiancounseling.com or by calling 205-737-0771.
