Meet Dr. Leah McMillan – the Founder/Owner of EnSpire Counseling & Wellness, Co-Founder/CCO of EnSpired Wellness Solutions; Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist, Certified First Responder Counselor, and Trauma Specialist with over 20+ yrs of experience. At my core, I am a helper. My life’s work has and is dedicated to supporting others in their journey toward healing and growth providing compassion, clinical expertise, and guidance needed to foster resilience and life’s transformation.

As the Owner and Founder of EnSpire Counseling & Wellness, Dr. Leah McMillan leads a dedicated team of heart-centered professionals with a mission to bring hope, healing, and restoration to individuals, couples, and families.
As the #1 trauma-informed multidisciplinary counseling and wellness center in South Georgia, her clinical team has earned a reputation for compassionate, client-centered care that addresses the mind, body, and spirit while facilitating personal growth. ECW facilitates the personal growth, development, and wellness of adults, children, adolescents, families, and couples. Our purpose is to help create a healthy and supportive environment for clients’ success through services that address and enhance overall emotional, physical, and spiritual wellness. Since our opening we have been blessed to work with thousands of clients and their families serving clients in our community and throughout the State of Georgia.

Dr. McMillan has worked in private practice for over 11 years. In addition, Leah obtained her certifications as a Certified First Responder Counselor (the only CFRC in our area), Certified Grief Informed Professional, and is a QPR Trainer for suicide awareness and prevention. She has been clinically licensed as a LMFT since 2006 and is an active member (clinical fellow) of AAMFT and GAMFT. Currently, Dr. McMillan serves as Chair of the South Georgia GAMFT Chapter. Her clinical path has allowed her to gain significant knowledge and experience in the field of mental health and counseling and is identified as a trauma specialist. She provides ongoing counseling in the areas of individual (children, adolescents, and adults), family, marital/couple, and group treatments with a focus on the specialty areas and psychopathology of PTSD/trauma, intimate partner violence, sexual assault, child abuse, bereavement/loss, depression, anxiety, mood disorders, suicide prevention, couple/marital/pre-marital, and compassion fatigue/secondary traumatic stress with first responders.

Dr. McMillan specializes in an eclectic modality of therapy utilizing eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR) therapy, BLAST, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy (TF-CBT), solution-focused therapy, and mindfulness.

In addition, Dr. McMillan trains, consults, and speaks to agencies and organizations on Compassion Fatigue and Burnout, Suicide Prevention, PTSD and Trauma, Workplace Violence, and the Importance of Wellness. Currently, Leah serves as Board Member for United2Prevent, Board Member for Partnership for Health, and Member of the Lowndes County Sexual Assault Response Team (SART).

Dr. McMillan believes, “Therapists are conductors of change; helping others find the light in the darkness: bringing hope, healing, and restoration.” This philosophy drives her work and inspires her team to create safe spaces where clients can heal and thrive.
