About
The LORD is near to all who call on him, to all who call on him in truth. Psalm 145:18 (NIV)
Christians can find themselves trapped in the strongholds of alcohol and drugs. Frequently these strongholds are confounded by a false belief ‘if I follow Jesus, I should be immune from this’ or ‘I should be able to pray my way out of this mess’. These false beliefs fan the fire of guilt and shame which drives us deeper and deeper into the shadows of secrets and isolation. The self-prescribed solution is to live two separate lives. On Sunday morning put on the mask of “Holy Happiness”; the rest of the week remain covered in shame, sorrow, isolation and hopelessness, while doing everything to keep these two lives separate. Clients often make the statement, “if the people at church really knew who I am or what I am doing, they would not want to have anything to do with me.” When we live in the isolation of shame and secrets the evil of this world steals our joy, kills our hope and destroys our lives. Jesus came to set us, the captives, free and give us life that we might have it abundantly. This freedom can be yours. Together, we can cultivate a plan for your life, that is based upon Biblical truths and scientific research, each reinforcing and confirming one another.
