I grew up in a small town in eastern Michigan, where faith, family, and church life shaped much of who I am. As the son of first-generation believers, I had the privilege of witnessing how the love of Christ can transform not only an individual life, but an entire home and community. Some of my earliest memories are of going with my father as he served in church, and those experiences planted in me a deep love for ministry, service, and walking alongside others. By my teenage years, I was already actively involved—playing piano for junior church and helping run a bus route with my best friend as we invited children from the community to Sunday School and junior church.
After high school, I attended Word of Life Bible Institute in Schroon Lake, New York, and later graduated from Cornerstone University with a bachelor’s degree in music ministry and a pastoral emphasis. Over the years, I have been blessed to serve in a variety of ministry roles, including youth pastor, worship pastor, assistant pastor, senior pastor, and camp director. In time, the Lord began leading me toward counseling as another way to care for people with compassion and truth, and I went on to earn a master’s degree in clinical mental health counseling from Liberty University. Today, my wife and I welcome people into our home-based practice, where I work with individuals who are facing anxiety, depression, and trauma. We have been married for 45 years, and one of the greatest joys of our lives has been raising our six children and now loving our eleven grandchildren.
At the heart of my counseling is a desire to offer encouragement, hope, and truth. I believe that what we come to believe about ourselves, our past, and our future deeply affects how we live, relate, and heal. Many people carry burdens shaped by fear, shame, loss, or painful experiences, and part of my role is to help them recognize the false beliefs that may be keeping them stuck and begin replacing those beliefs with truth that brings freedom and peace. As a Christian counselor, I draw from both clinical training and the lasting hope found in Scripture. My goal is to create a safe, welcoming space where people feel seen, heard, and genuinely cared for. I want each client to know they are not alone, that healing is possible, and that with support, grace, and truth, they can move forward with renewed confidence and purpose.
