Reflecting on all the courses I have studied, I believe it is not what I learned, but the person I have become. Many years ago, I was faced with an extremely stressful situation. In the middle of my storm was when I felt God reaching out to me, leading me. I took a long look at myself and my path, and believed God wanted to me to study biblical counseling and Christian life coaching. I was not clear on why at first, although I have had thoughts in the past about getting into ministry.
With a lot of thoughtful prayer, I committed to the master diploma program offered by Light University online. As I started to study and focus more on God’s Word, I felt my sense of worry fading away. I began to trust God with all of it, with every situation, and He has provided. I believe He has led me through the storm and through my studies helped me to grow into the man of God He wants me to be.
Who have I become? I have become someone who is more faithful, disciplined, rooted in God’s Word, and yet still seeking His guidance for direction in my life. Each course I have studied has given me a better perspective. I found myself thinking through my life and various situations and sometimes wishing I had this information beforehand. We cannot change the past, though; however, we can make the future better. And with what I have learned, I believe I can make a better future for myself and the people I serve.
We all have a unique life purpose that God has intended for us. It is up to us to take the steps daily so that we can touch the lives of others positively and profoundly. This career is my passion; this is my purpose, and I am excited I have found my path and know that God is using me to help restore relationships and families.
