I am a Licensed Christian Counselor and a Licensed Addiction Counselor. I have a private practice, and I treat individuals, couples and families. I have been practicing for over 5 years, and I recently began my PhD pursuit in Counselor Education Supervision. I believe that faith in Jesus Christ is fundamental to our physical, mental and emotional health and I guide my clients in establishing and/or affirming that foundation in their life while navigating the symptoms they are experiencing from trauma, anxiety, depression, substance abuse, and the daily stress of living. I utilize person-centered; CBT; Reality Therapy; and Biblical principles in my treatment plans with each client depending on their needs. I also facilitate a weekly women’s group focused on providing support through Bible study and discussion. I believe that your faith and relationship with God is the cornerstone to navigating everything the world throws your way; it’s the foundation that keeps us steady as we face trials and tribulations.
We all need connections in our life, and sometimes God utilizes people as vessels to guide and direct them; but we all need fellowship and wise counsel as well. Fostering healthy relationships and connections can be difficult in our world today, but it’s important to reflect on how our relationships are affecting our daily lives, and how our experiences shape the way we cope and manage daily stress and conflicts. Our faith doesn’t make anything easier, it just makes it possible. I believe in helping clients (whether individual, couples, or families) lean into their faith and utilize it as a tool to cope and manage their past, present and future while identifying healthy aspects of their relationships and learning how to assert healthy boundaries with the un-healthy relationships. Sometimes this requires us to understand and heal our past trauma’s so that we can live in the present and step into who God is calling you to be.
The past doesn’t have to control your future, and you are strong enough to step into each day filled with the Grace and Mercy of God. I’m just here to help you believe in yourself and rely on God to provide the rest. This is a continual lesson that I am reminded of daily, and I trust God in guiding me to share that and help others foster that belief in themselves.
