Blair Hollis M.A. GCDF BCCC is a Board Certified Christian Counselor (BCCC). In his 15 years of practice, he understands that in many ways we conform to this world, lose a sense of “who” we are and struggle to discern “what” we were designed to become. As we experience life stressors and speed bumps, we lose our way and are in need of counseling to find restoration, spiritual realignment, and a process of renewal that develops a sense of hope.

Practice Description

Blair’s counseling practice believes that each individual is born with a talented mind that is designed to be developed in order to share their giftedness with others. It is also based on the truth that we have unique roles to pay in our lives, in our work and in our marriages. We yearn to cultivate a deeper understanding of “who” they are, “what” our role is in this world and to discover a pathway that allows them to flourish. We often look through different lenses where our attention is less on comprehending our uniqueness and more about just surviving. This directly impacts the quality of our personal and professional relationships, which become strained. Our Hope-Focused spiritual counseling focuses on guiding individuals through life stressors back to a life that holds meaning and enables them to reclaim their lives and be whom God designed them to become.

Bibliography

Blair Hollis M.A. GCDF BCCC is a Board Certified Christian Counselor. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Philosophy and Religion from DePauw University, and a Masters of Arts degree in Counseling with an emphasis in Couples Therapy from Liberty University, where he was awarded the Silver Medallion of Distinction. He holds a Post Graduate Certificate in Executive Leadership from Cornell University, a Post Graduate Certificate in Addiction and Recovery, and a Post Graduate Certificate in Interpersonal Neurobiology and Depression.

His education and training in Narrative Therapy within counselor settings was under Dr. Mark Savickas. Narratives offer a subjective understanding of life conflicts as well as reveal inner strengths that may be repurposed. His supervision and training in Counseling and Vocational Development was under the auspices of Dr. Rebecca Dedmond, who inspired using a strengths-based approach to guide individuals to finding meaning in what they do, to work through a process of taking on a new perspective of how to leverage their gifts, and to perfecting a pathway in life that has a sense of purpose.

His training in Couples Therapy uses Dr.Everett Worthington’s Hope-Focused Couples Therapy practices and resources to guide others through Christian marriage counseling. He founded Crossroads Consulting, Inc. in order to meet the multifarious needs of others by creating a unique Hope-Focused Intentional Change Model ® developed from the important work of Savickas’ (2005) Constructionist approach and Niles, Amundson & Neault’s (2010) Hope directed approach. This innovative Hope model integrates cognitive attunement using both subjective and objective psychological assessments and Christian purpose-driven counseling for individuals encountering anxiety and other life challenges, to assist in their discovering a new way of living and finding their calling in life.
