As a minister since 1998—more than 25 years in pastoral ministry—I have walked closely with fellow believers through profound struggles: self-harm and cutting, alcoholism and addiction, psychosis, personality disorders, family conflicts, marital strain, and the deep pain of divorce. I have witnessed how even dedicated church leaders can feel unequipped to address these complex emotional and psychological challenges with both biblical wisdom and practical, effective help. This long experience in ministry led me to pursue formal counseling training. My goal is to help remove the obstacles—emotional wounds, trauma responses, relational patterns, anxiety, and other barriers—that hinder a believer’s spiritual walk and intimacy with God. By carefully listening and applying the best available wisdom, we seek to clear the way for God’s grace to move more freely, strengthening obedience, growth, and closeness to Christ.Several Scriptures deeply shape my approach:

Proverbs 3:1-6 — “My son, do not forget my teaching… Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.” This passage continually reminds me—and those I counsel—to depend on God’s direction rather than our own limited insight, especially in painful or confusing seasons.
Philippians 4:4-8 — “Rejoice in the Lord always… Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God… Whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable… think about these things.” These verses guide us to replace worry with God’s peace through prayer and to focus our minds on what is praiseworthy in His eyes, seeking His approval above all.
The book of Proverbs repeatedly calls us to pursue wisdom (with the fear of the Lord as its beginning), while Ecclesiastes confronts the emptiness and futility of life apart from God, helping us face worldly struggles with an eternal, God-centered perspective.

Listening lies at the heart of both Scripture and counseling. James 1:19 urges us to be “quick to hear, slow to speak,” and Proverbs 18:13 warns that answering before listening is folly. In every session, I prioritize truly hearing you—your story, your pain, your questions, and your hopes—without interruption or assumption. Only then do we explore how God’s Word speaks directly to your situation.I incorporate biblical principles gently and only as you desire: sharing Scripture for comfort, insight, or encouragement; reflecting together on how it applies to your specific struggles (trust amid trauma, peace instead of anxiety, identity rooted in Christ); offering prayer when you request it; and integrating faith seamlessly with proven methods like EMDR and PCIT.The result is counseling grounded in the best available wisdom, marked by genuine empathy, and built on the foundation of being fully heard—so that together we can remove what hinders your walk with Christ and pursue the freedom and peace He promises.
