About
I believe that we were not meant to carry our heaviest burdens alone, a truth anchored in Galatians 6:2: “Bear ye one another’s burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ” (King James Version). My journey to counseling is rooted in both my faith in Christ and my real-world service. During my over 10 years as a volunteer firefighter, I witnessed the deep brokenness of this world firsthand. It was through these experiences that the Lord grew my burden to help those who are hurting—specifically survivors of domestic and sexual abuse, as well as pastors and ministry leaders who carry heavy loads for their flocks but often have no safe place to rest.
My work is guided by the promise found in Psalm 147:3: “He healeth the broken in heart, and bindeth up their wounds”. As a believer, my faith is the foundation of who I am, and I know that true healing ultimately comes from the Father and His Son, Jesus Christ.
In the counseling room, I integrate Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) with a strict Biblical worldview. ACT aligns beautifully with Biblical teachings; rather than simply trying to “delete” difficult thoughts or the suffering of this fallen world, we look to the Bible to help you endure trials, identify your God-given values, and take committed action toward the life He has called you to live. We can incorporate prayer, Biblical principles, and Scripture into our sessions to the exact degree you desire, always pointing back to the truth found in His Word.
As a Graduate Counselor Intern completing my Master’s at Liberty University, I offer a unique “Team Advantage.” I work under the direct supervision of Charissa Langstaff, LCSW, meaning you receive my dedicated, Christ-centered focus backed by her over 20 years of clinical expertise.
Whether you are a ministry leader facing burnout or a survivor seeking safety, my office is a safe harbor where you can finally set that weight down.
