About Me

Hello, I’m Eric Burden. I’m a Mental Health Counselor with Mercy Counseling Services  who feels deeply called to walk with the brokenhearted. I consider it a sacred privilege to sit with clients in their struggles, listen to their stories, and help them discover hope, strength, and clarity through Christ.

I earned my MA in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Liberty University, where I developed a strong foundation in trauma‑informed care, cultural humility, and evidence‑based therapeutic practice. Throughout my training, I became increasingly aware of how God has shaped me for this work—giving me a heart that listens, a mind that understands, and a faith that guides every session.

My passion for counseling began long before graduate school. Through years of involvement in Celebrate Recovery, I learned how powerful it is when people feel safe enough to share their stories. I served in small groups, 12‑step programs, and leadership roles, walking with individuals through seasons of pain, growth, and transformation. Coming from my own place of brokenness, I learned firsthand how God uses our wounds to help us care for others with empathy and authenticity.
