About
Mara is a dedicated military veteran with eight years of service in the army, where she served as a signal collector analyst and drill sergeant. Transitioning from her military career, she pursued her passion for psychology and crisis counseling, earning her bachelor’s degree from Liberty University in 2015. Recognizing her calling to help individuals on a deeper level, Mara furthered her education, obtaining a master’s in professional counseling in 2020. Currently pursuing her doctorate in community care in traumatology, Mara is committed to assisting trauma survivors in overcoming guilt and shame, while fostering reconnection with their faith and loved ones. Mara served as mental health counselor in Volusia County for three years. She also served as board member for Open Doors Counseling Network in 2023. Over the past four years, she has been practicing in Palm Coast, where she aims to expand her practice, fostering an environment of healing, and nurturing the growth of future counselors.
My goal as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor is to provide my clients with a judgment-free, safe space where they can openly express their emotions, and we can begin the healing process together. I believe the key to a successful therapeutic relationship begins with developing a collaborative approach to restoration and personal growth. I strive to empower my clients to be their own advocates and to be able to make decisions that will help them reach their goals. I emphasize a holistic approach to counseling, which includes looking at life’s physical, emotional, and spiritual aspects. I believe that the process of healing requires a compassionate and non-judgmental approach. I am committed to helping you find the tools and resources to help you achieve your goals.
