Hi, I’m Dr. Esmie. (Dr Ez)
I am a Licensed Clinical Therapist and Research Psychologist with more than 30 years of experience in counseling, psychotherapy, psychoeducation, and supporting individuals, couples, and families through life’s challenges. I hold a PhD with specialized training in cognitive neuropsychology, neuroplasticity, emotional intelligence, and behavior change.
My personal journey with God is deeply woven into my approach to healing. Although I struggled with my faith during my younger years, God pursued me with grace, love, and faithfulness and transformed my life through a powerful encounter with Jesus. That experience became foundational to my relationship with Him and continues to shape how I serve others today.
Through Renew Your Mind Holistic, LLC, I provide compassionate virtual counseling to individuals, couples, and families throughout Virginia, Maryland, and Washington, DC. My approach integrates biblical principles with evidence based clinical interventions, including Christian Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Trauma-Focused CBT, Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy, mindfulness, and strengths based approaches.
I help clients recognize unhealthy thought and behavior patterns, process difficult experiences, develop healthier relationships, and cultivate emotional and spiritual resilience. I believe that the way we think profoundly influences how we feel, behave, relate to others, and navigate life. As Scripture reminds us, “For as he thinks in his heart, so is he” (Proverbs 23:7).
My work is grounded in the belief that meaningful healing addresses the whole person mind, body, and spirit. Whether you are navigating trauma, anxiety, depression, relational challenges, life transitions, questions of identity, or simply seeking personal growth, my goal is to provide a safe and compassionate space where you feel seen, heard, valued, and respected.
