My name is Denise Dodson (Dee).

Counseling Methods style: I am a Christian Licensed Pastoral Counselor and certified in Temperament as well as Grief and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy., trained and licensed by the National Christian Counselor’s Association. I have a Bachelor of Science in Human Resources and 23 years of corporate experience. I completed my master’s in Clinical Christian counseling in 2020 through the Colorado Theological Seminary and Clinical Christian Supervisor in 2024. I have been a believer since 1972 and am currently under the authority of Bethesda Evangelical Free church where I have a small office. This is an independent practice and not currently a ministry of Bethesda Church. In 2026 I completed my ministry credentials through the Christian Leadership Institute that include pre-marital counseling, wedding and funeral officiant credentials.
My mission is to provide affordable counseling to women, families and youth.  I ask my clients to pray about what they can contribute to my counseling ministry within the $25-$75.00 hourly rate and be open to the Spirit’s leading.  Those who are able to pay the full fee, help those financially who cannot.  While I may use methods such as Cognitive Behavioral Training (CBT) or integrate other methods with my counseling sessions, I will primarily offer a Biblical world view. I pray with and for my clients.  I do require a temperament assessment which includes a small one-time fee to be completed prior to or following the first consultation session. You will find in me a compassionate listening ear and a desire to help move you toward leading a fulfilling and Christ-centered life amid earthly struggles and past hurts and emotional pain. I have personal experience with the challenges of marital, family, and caregiving for parents with dementia.  I have led GriefShare groups for six years.
While I reside in Missouri, I am available to all 50 states via telehealth and strive to accommodate different time zones.  I do limit my practice and client list in order to provide the personalized care I believe is needed in counseling as well as maintain a balanced family life.
