LMFT (Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist)
About
I was raised in a Hispanic bilingual English-Spanish home that was also a pastor’s home. I had the church experience of bilingual, Spanish only, English only Christian communities which was a significant impact on my growth. I came to the saving grace of Christ at an early age and my development was molded by that and by strong biblical influences. One of my guiding scriptures has been Romans 12:2 that speaks about not conforming to the world but to be in a consistent movement of being transformed by the renewal of my mind so that I will grow in discernment as I walk with Christ. That has been key to my work in hearing God’s voice as I listen to my client’s concerns. In my work I found that people struggle with the contradictions of the living of life and the living of faith. Therefore, I believe the overall goal of Christian therapy is to help the client discover the practical application of Biblical thought and teaching. My role as a Christian therapist is to help guide the individual toward Biblical alignment in living a Christ-filled life for facing the problems, conflicts, and challenges that life brings. Ultimately, helping the Christian client align their faith with the challenges this life brings. It is an integration of faith and the issues of relationships, emotions, and spiritual and mental health.
