Counseling is an art that requires the collaborative input of the client. You are the expert in your life while I am here to guide you along the path that leads to your desired growth. My style of counseling is primarily Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), although I incorporate many other forms of therapy to individualize to the needs of each client. I will work on the goals you set for our time together and keep our sessions purposeful.  I look at the big picture of systemic problems and work on fixing the root cause rather than simply treating the symptoms. Clients can expect to feel connected, heard, and understood. Above all, I am genuine and transparent. You will not feel “psychoanalyzed” with me, yet you can expect to increase your understanding and self-awareness in relation to your mental health and behavioral reactions. To your discretion, we will also look at patterns to determine areas that may be beneficial to make changes for growth or healing.

I started work at Bethel Haven in June 2019 as an associate level therapist after graduation. In August 2022, I received my full license status of a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC). I have helped clients manage and heal symptoms of depression, anxiety/panic, schizoaffective disorder, PTSD, grief, ADHD, anger management and more. For couples, I have received training in SYMBIS (Saving Your Marriage Before It Starts) to be a certified SYMBIS facilitator for pre-martial or newlywed families. I also have training by Dr. Woodsfellow on helping couples understand their fear and love cycles.

I am currently working with clients primarily through telehealth. This includes video sessions (through a HIPAA compliant platform called Doxy) or phone sessions as applicable. At your first session, I will discuss and conduct a screening for client-to-therapist fit for my expertise and telehealth setting. At this time, it also gives clients a “test” to see if you may like telehealth or feel comfortable working with me as your therapist. Mainly, you need somewhere private to talk and good connection. Otherwise, please treat it like an in-person professional appointment, such as appropriate attire, attentiveness, and demeanor; and you can trust that I will as well.

I work Tuesdays through Fridays by appointment only. Sessions are typically 45 minutes. The first session will consist of an intake of additional paperwork and collection of history of your concerns, which can take up to 90 minutes. Please contact the office to schedule the intake appointment.
