I grew up in a community that claimed to be Christian, yet was marked by the abuse, particularly from the leader. As we reached adulthood, my peers and I sought justice and were able to secure a 180-year sentence for him. Through my struggles, God played a vital role in my survival and healing journey. I came to embrace Romans 8:28, which reminds us that “all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose.” This verse became a source of hope, assuring me that even the darkest experiences could be woven into something meaningful for those who trust Him.

In navigating my own understanding of the past, Proverbs 3:3-6 offered a guiding light: “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding.” (v5) This passage taught me the power of complete faith, encouraging me to let go of the need to rely solely on human logic, emotions, or perspectives.

With this faith guiding me, I dedicated myself to studying psychology and counseling, and ultimately pursued psychotherapy for my own healing. Today, I bring these insights and experiences into my work, where I serve as a licensed therapist with 18 years of experience. My passion lies in supporting those who have faced trauma and stress, especially adults grappling with childhood abuse and individuals navigating life-threatening circumstances, from natural disasters to health crises and violence.

I find deep fulfillment in working with professionals in high-stress environments, including veterans, law enforcement officers, first responders, and healthcare workers. I also offer support to adults dealing with a variety of challenges—such as dissociation, profound grief, divorce, life transitions, depression, and religious trauma.

Trained in both standard and trauma-specific therapies, I take pride in tailoring my approach to meet your unique needs. I understand that every person’s journey is different, and my goal is to fully grasp your specific situation to provide the most effective therapeutic solutions.

Trauma and significant stress can manifest in both overt and subtle ways. It’s crucial to address these symptoms while also delving into their underlying causes. Healing is not just possible; it is within reach. I encourage you to seek support—whether from another professional or me. Remember, you don’t have to traverse this path alone; there is hope and help available.
