About

My mission as a professional counselor is the same as my personal mission:  to be a conduit to facilitate emotional, mental, and spiritual healing. I use a Christian perspective drawing from Biblical values and truths to do this, while relying on the Holy Spirit for wisdom, guidance, and discernment. As a licensed clinical professional counselor, I also integrate my years of experience using modalities such as person-centered therapy, CBT, EMDR, inner child work, and attachment theory. Although I use a Christ centered perspective, I welcome everyone regardless of your beliefs and I will respect your autonomy. My hope is to create a warm, welcoming therapeutic atmosphere where you feel free to be yourself without fear of judgement.

I have always identified trauma as being my “niche” in therapy.  I enjoy helping people discover how trauma has impacted how they perceive themselves, God, and others. We take time to identify unhealthy negative beliefs and attitudes and then work on transforming them into healthy true ones that align with God’s word. We may also look at how generational patterns, personal choices, and relational discord potentially impact your sense of inner peace and joy. Whether it’s healing past wounds or tackling present day issues, bringing the love and power of Jesus into these is what really initiates change.  I have a BS in Human Services from Hannibal-LaGrange University (1998) and an MA in Professional Counseling from Lindenwood University (2013). I’m licensed in Missouri (#201604034) and Illinois (#180.015912). I offer private-pay therapy sessions via telehealth only at this time. My fee is $100 per 60 minute session. Please feel free to message me if you have questions or would like to consult before scheduling!

On a more personal note, I gave my life to Jesus when I was 6 years old.  He has always been my Rock.  What I desire most of all is to complete the works He prepared beforehand for me to do, so I try to be attentive to His lead and voice in all of my sessions. A few scriptures that guide my work are:

The Spirit of the Lord spoke by me, And His word was on my tongue. 2 Samuel 23:2

Trust and rely confidently on the Lord with all your heart and do not rely on your own insight or understanding. In all your ways know and acknowledge and recognize Him, and He will make your paths straight and smooth. Proverbs 3:5-6

But first and most importantly seek His kingdom and His righteousness and all these things will be given to you also. Matthew 6:33
