Hi everyone!

My name is Angela Ding.

I am both a credentialed Christian Counselor and an Associate MFT in CA. I am passionate about extending empathy, unconditional love and acceptance, and a non-judgmental attitude in the “True Love” God unreservedly loves us sinners with. Bearing in mind Psalm 23 as my favorite verses, I am adept to instilling “Living Hope” which could only be found in God who created each one of us with a purpose and who has left a God-shaped vacuum that barely be filled by any earthly things like money, power, and fame, but Jesus Christ alone.

Besides the instilling of God’s “Living Hope”, I also strive to address “spirituality” in a therapeutically appropriate way by bridging the gap from “where my clients currently are” to “where God wants my clients to be”, with the proper incorporation of “baptized” modern psychology-driven counseling skills and techniques. The coping with “spirituality” is exactly what sets Christian counseling apart from secularized clinical, professional counseling. However, ironically, there are a multitude of symptoms, which outwardly seem like “psych-somatization”,  could barely be better explained and interpreted by the dimension of “spirituality”. Holy Spirit works good work on us, so does evil spirit work evil on us. It is not a smart practice to either over-moralize pathology or over-pathologize morality.

Moreover, a great number of what people identify as “psychological issues” or even “mental illnesses” can literally only be resulting from committing sins and willful disobediences, which then inevitably result in tangible consequences and an impaired, dysfunctional, evil-attacked spirituality is no exception. Think about Legion, the insane man ( who is considered “psychotic” by today’s standards) who was so demon-possessed that he shattered the chains to constantly get out of control for years until Jesus drove out the demons from him to get him restored and commanded him to testify afterwards, what a vivid, truthful example of the significance of a holy, healthy spirituality! Also think about Mary the Magdalene, from whom Jesus drove out 7 evil spirits…..

I would always like to remind my clients that “without God breathing the very first breath into Adam’s nostrils, Adam could never have become a human with SPIRIT!” Thus, to address spiritual issues presented in terms of what modern psychologists call “psychosomatic symptoms”, the smartest way is to return all the way back to the One who created us and bestowed us Holy Spirit.
