As a licensed clinical psychologist with experience both in general mental health and behavioral medicine, I offer individual therapy services to individuals aged 18 and older as well as presurgical bariatric psychological evaluations. I value the opportunity to come alongside others in their pursuit of personal and spiritual growth, insight, and change.

In journeying with patients toward health and well-being, I take into consideration biological, psychological, and social bases of health. I seek to identify and address underlying factors that may be contributing to the more surface level problem(s)—making referrals to other medical professionals when indicated. Examples of underlying factors can include unprocessed trauma/neglect, insomnia, sensory processing sensitivity, overbreathing, sleep disordered breathing, low vagal tone, nutritional deficiencies, brain fog, mold illness, thyroid disease, autoimmune disease, and chronic pain.

In addition, I am attuned to the spiritual needs of my patients. Although I work with individuals from any religious/non-religious or cultural background, I specialize in Christian integration—incorporating a Biblical perspective when requested.

A specific area of interest and expertise is working with highly sensitive people (HSPs), who make up roughly 50% of the mental health care seeking population. Anticipatory anxiety, perfectionism, relational concerns, and nervous system regulation are a few topics often discussed when working with someone who is an HSP. In conjunction, for those interested in supporting their mental health on the go, I promote the use of mental health apps.

I draw from a variety of evidence-based treatment modalities—tailoring my therapeutic approach to meet the needs of each of my patients. I am motivated by wanting to alleviate unnecessary suffering in my patient’s lives. In general, I work with my patients to address problematic thoughts and beliefs, clarify values, set goals, become more accepting and curious, stay in the present moment, set boundaries, communicate assertively, and improve problem solving skills. More important than any therapy approach, however, is the therapeutic relationship I strive to cultivate.

Although I am licensed in the state of Georgia, I am able to provide telehealth services to individuals in other PSYPACT participating states: https://psypact.site-ym.com/page/psypactmap

If I am not in network with your insurance company, you could use out of network benefits (if applicable) to offset some of the expense. Once you have paid for your therapy session, I can provide you with the necessary documentation to submit to your insurance company for possible reimbursement. In addition, FSA and HSA accounts can often be used to pay for mental health and therapy services.
