I have found in life that our hopes and dreams don’t always go the way we plan. My husband and I did lots of traveling and one year we were going on a cruise to Alaska. We were on our way from Wyoming to Seattle, Washington. We stopped for dinner in Idaho and while there we received a phone call that shocked our lives. Our youngest daughter had been in a terrible accident with a semi-truck on the freeway. She was being life flighted to the University of Utah Hospital. We canceled our trip and instead drove to Utah. Through a five-week detour, we found strength and comfort while experiencing inconceivable loss and eventually hope and transformation through God. Because of what took place in those five weeks, I eventually went back to school, through Light University and received my Master Certification in Christian Coaching and specialized in Grief and Loss.
My favorite verses are: 2 Corinthians 1: 3-5, Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord the God of all comfort. He comforts us In all our affliction, so that we may be able to comfort those who are in any kind of affliction, through the comfort we ourselves receive from God. For just as the sufferings of Christ overflow to us so also through Christ our comfort overflows.
So, that is why I now Coach others who have experienced any kind of loss or grief or just going through a rough time.
