I came to faith in Jesus in a season when I felt both overwhelmed and deeply aware of my need for something greater than myself.
Jesus met me in my brokenness, offered me hope, and began reshaping the way I understood healing, relationships, and my purpose in life. That moment of conversion did not just change my spiritual life, it shaped my calling.
As a Marriage & Family Therapy practicum student at Liberty University, serving clients at Compassion Counseling in Arlington under a licensed clinician supervision, my faith guides the way I approach therapy. The model that resonates most deeply with me is Person‑ Centered Therapy. I love this approach because it aligns beautifully with my belief that people flourish when they feel genuinely heard, valued, and accepted.
Peson Centered Therapy approach reflects the heart of Christ, meeting people where they are, honoring their experiences, and trusting their capacity for growth when given empathy, authenticity, and unconditional positive regard.
I also integrate Cognitive Behavior Therapy because it mirrors the biblical call to renew our minds and challenge the thoughts that keep us stuck.
My favorite verses guide both my personal walk and my therapeutic work:
- Philippians 1:6 — “He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion.” A reminder that healing is a process God Himself oversees.
- Psalm 34:18 — “The Lord is close to the brokenhearted.” This verse shapes my heart for counseling and reminds me of God’s nearness in suffering.
- Romans 12:2 — “Be transformed by the renewing of your mind.” A perfect bridge between faith and therapeutic practice.
- Isaiah 41:10 — “Fear not, for I am with you.” A verse that has carried me through seasons of uncertainty and continues to steady me.
Today, my faith shapes the way I serve, counsel, and walk with others and it is one of the reasons I am passionate about the work we do at Compassion Counseling. If you are looking for a place where you will be heard, supported, and met with genuine care, I will be honored to walk alongside you.
