Hi! I am a professional, licensed Pastoral Counselor with advancement in children and youth therapy. I counsel children, youth, women, couples and families. I am also a Licensed Temperament Therapist. I offer therapy through a Biblical lens, committed to seeking healing for the whole person by understanding – body, mind and spirit. I enjoy using temperament analysis to discover who God created us to be before we were affected by our environment. Memories and emotional wounds can keep us from fully experiencing the peace and joy that only Jesus Christ can provide. I thoroughly enjoy coming alongside my clients to help them find their true identity in Christ. I also provide Equine Therapy Counseling for those interested to help with a variety of mental health concerns such as emotional regulation, self confidence, responsibility, mindfulness, assertiveness, building relationships, empathy, impulse control, problem solving skills, social skills, trust in others, trust in self, etc. This is all done in a less intimidating environment.
Practice Description
I want to share some information about myself and what I do in counseling so you can make a fully informed decision about using my services. First and foremost, I am a Christian counselor. As a Christian counselor I believe that hiding our beliefs and trying to do value-free counseling is both unwise and impossible to do, so I want you to know what my important values and beliefs are. Tied in Knots Counseling has respectfully and graciously chosen not to participate in state licensure citing the desire to offer counsel as ministry in an environment that is not required to operate free of a biblical perspective. The biblical perspective of counsel offers hope and healing beyond the limits of self and circumstances. I also believe that individuals are created in God’s image and can only feel complete and fulfilled through a relationship with God through His Son Jesus Christ. Thus, Christian counseling, as opposed to other kinds of counseling, is very concerned with the spiritual as well as the emotional and physical needs of clients. The main goal of Christian counseling, like the goal of Christian living, is to enable clients to move toward greater emotional and spiritual health by becoming more like Jesus Christ. As a Christian counselor, I am not limited to psychological techniques or to my own human effort and wisdom. I believe that God is the real authority in counseling and He gives us the resources to change. I believe counseling should involve praying about the client’s difficulties and looking to the authority of the Bible for guidance. In this way, I seek to encourage clients to build a dependency on God. The client can find forgiveness for the past, strength and comfort for the present, and hope for the future by trusting the Lord to daily meet needs and heal emotional wounds. I try to reflect the character of Jesus Christ and to love my clients as He does. While I do not try to force religion on my clients, I do urge them to develop a relationship with the only true Healer of the body, soul and spirit, Jesus Christ. I offer a free 15 minute consult to discuss your needs and determine the best option moving forward. Tied in Knots Counseling does not accept insurance for your benefit and to legally maintain the integrity of biblical counseling. Insurance companies require diagnostic codes that become part of your permanent health records. Tied in Knots Counseling’s approach to counseling and coaching allows me to support you in protecting your privacy so you are free to get the support you need without the limitations of the healthcare system.

Ecclesiastes 4:12 “….a threefold cord is not quickly broken.” Life is a tapestry of knots woven together by love, in touch with everything there is to know of God. These knots of life give us minds that are confident and at rest, focused on Christ, God’s great mystery, the tapestry of life. All of the richest treasures of wisdom and knowledge are embedded in that mystery and nowhere else. And we’ve been shown the mystery! I’m telling you this because I don’t want anyone leading you on some wild-goose chase, after other so-called mysteries. The knotted tapestry of life is woven together by God and for God’s purpose. Our knot is filled with love, grace and mercy and therefore cannot be broken. Our tapestry wasn’t weaved the way we had planned but it was weaved by God and for that we are so grateful. He gave us a life that we couldn’t have dreamed of on our own. Our threefold cord is God, us, and our children. All of those make up our three fold cord and because of God and His strength, we are not quickly broken but weaved together more strongly because of the knots that were used to weave the tapestry.
