I am a private practice Licensed Christian therapist serving clients in and around the Fort Mitchell, Alabama and Columbus, Georgia areas, as well as online. I specialize in treating individuals who have experienced early childhood adversities resulting in complex post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), dissociative identity disorder (DID), and other related issues, including depression, addictions, and anxiety.

My passion for this field began during my career as a missionary pastor, where I witnessed the profound impact early childhood trauma has on mental health and well-being. As a former paramedic in North Carolina for ten years and a flight medic in the NC Air National Guard, I encountered various traumas. Later, as a missionary pastoral counselor in Germany, ministering to US military personnel, I further understood the long-term effects of trauma on individuals’ lives.

I believe in everyone’s potential for healing and growth. My goal is to provide a safe and supportive environment where clients can work through their trauma and reclaim their lives. I have extensive experience with clients who have faced a range of traumatic experiences, including physical and emotional abuse, neglect, sexual assault, and structured mind control techniques. Using a trauma-informed approach to therapy, I am sensitive to my clients’ unique needs and experiences, working collaboratively to develop personalized treatment plans.

My approach to therapy is grounded in evidence-based practices, including: Psychodynamic/Supportive psychotherapy, Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Mindfulness-Based Therapies, Narrative Therapy, and the Primary Identity Approach for highly dissociative clients. I am also trained in Hypnotherapy and EMDR, which helps clients retrieve and reprocess suppressed and dissociated traumas. For specific PTSD events, I may utilize a newly developed method called TRP (Trauma Resiliency Protocol) and EMP (Emotions Management Process), which is fast and very effective at resolving and healing known PTSD events.

I believe that the therapeutic relationship is the foundation of successful therapy, and I strive to create a warm, empathic, and non-judgmental environment where clients feel heard, understood, and supported. My ultimate goal is to empower my clients to reclaim their lives and live a fulfilling and meaningful life no matter what past experiences they have lived through and survived.

Additionally, there is a growing body of research that supports the practice of self-compassion and mindfulness in psychotherapy. Neuroscience research reveals individuals that practice these techniques are happier, more resilient, and better equipped to heal painful memories from the past. It is my honor and mission to help my clients move past what’s blocking them from reaching their full potential individually and in their relationships through counseling.
