During a time of transition, God spoke these words to me through a fellow believer: “There are people who will not listen to you until you have those initials behind your name.”  I used those words to propel me to becoming a licensed clinical mental health counselor. The integration of Christ into counseling has been easy for me as I am a Christian first in all that I do. I anchor clients into the therapeutic process by reminding them of John 10:10, “the thief comes to steal, kill, and destroy” which sets the table for treatment. However, I also do not forget the human element that is involved in the treatment process. Finally, I use scripture to assist clients with not just living a life, but living life abundantly.
