Personal Testimony and Faith Integration

From a young age, I’ve been deeply immersed in church life and ministry, which has shaped my entire journey. Starting as a volunteer in youth groups, I later served as a Christian camp counselor and youth pastor, where I witnessed the transformative power of faith in people’s lives. Over time, I felt a clear calling to professional counseling, driven by a passion to support those who dedicate themselves to helping others—such as pastors, ministry leaders, fellow counselors, and professionals in demanding fields. My own faith walk has been one of steady growth through community, service, and reflection, reminding me that true healing often comes from aligning our struggles with God’s purpose.

One of my favorite Scriptures that guides my work is 1 Peter 1:6-9, which speaks to rejoicing in trials as they refine our faith, proving it genuine and leading to praise, glory, and joy at Christ’s revelation. This passage inspires me to view challenges as opportunities for spiritual strengthening, and I often reference it to encourage clients facing difficulties to find hope and perseverance rooted in eternal truths.

In my therapy sessions, I incorporate Biblical teachings thoughtfully and ethically, always with client consent and as a complement to evidence-based practices. Drawing from primary sources like Scripture, I promote biblical virtues—such as love, forgiveness, and humility—as a strong foundation for living well and building resilience. Influences from thinkers like C.S. Lewis, J.R.R. Tolkien, and Søren Kierkegaard further enrich this approach; their explorations of faith, moral imagination, and existential questions help me guide clients toward integrating their beliefs into practical, everyday wellness. Whether through reflective discussions, prayer integration (when desired), or exploring parables and stories from the Bible, my goal is to help clients experience counseling that honors God while addressing their mental and emotional needs holistically.
