I believe God designed us to heal from the things we experience in this world, but we heal faster and more wholly when we allow Him space to do His work in our lives.  John 15:5 tells us “Apart from Me, you can do nothing.”  I know in my own experience that trying to manage things my way rarely works, but when I surrender to His will and His plan, I receive a peace that I can’t really explain.  I help my clients tap into the Truth of scripture, and apply its tenets to their lives.  Phil 4:8 encourages us to focus our thoughts on things that are true, noble, right, pure, lovely, and admirable.  It emphasizes the importance of thinking positively and valuing virtuous qualities.  Human nature drives us to be anxious and believe our distorted thinking, and I help clients recognize when that is happening.

I’ve been practicing well over a decade, and I wrote a book outlining the things I’ve seen in my office that truly make a difference in my clients’ lives.  In the book, I explain those concepts, tie it into science so readers understand what is happening in their bodies, and I wrap it up with scripture.  God wired us to heal and He’s shown me so many commonalities in people and how He works in our hearts and lives.

It’s just hard living in this inbetween time; the time between Christ’s first coming and His Second.  He told us we would have troubles in this world, but reminds us to take heart, because He has overcome the world! (John 16:33) We are so blessed to serve a benevolent God who uses us to support and encourage others on our journeys.

My responsibility as a Christian and as a therapist is to love people.  Not judge them and tell them what I think is best. We all have burdens, weakness and brokenness, and I feel called to sit beside people in theirs and help them heal. I work with students age 14+ and adults. My specialties lie in treating ADHD and Anxiety.  I primarily use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and include holistic modalities like sleep, nutrition, spirituality, and physical activity. I believe in treating the whole person, not just the situation they’re experiencing.  My goal for my clients is to equip them to be able to help themselves and use their time with me as a stepping stone to their way to being a happier, healthier version of themselves.
