About Rosemary

Hi, I’m Rosemary Parker—a wife, mom to two beautiful children, and a counselor who was called into this work during one of the hardest seasons of my own life.

Though I’m not originally from Texas, it has become home over the past 15 years. It’s the place where my own healing journey began, and my purpose took root. I was drawn to counseling when I needed it most, and that experience ignited a deep passion to walk alongside others in their stories of growth, healing, and hope.

Over the years, I’ve come to believe that relational connection is central to how God designed us to heal. Safe, secure relationships—both with Him and with others—allow our minds, bodies, and hearts to find rest and restoration. As I often tell clients, we were never meant to heal alone.

One of the Scriptures that guides my work is Isaiah 61:1, which says, “He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives, and release from darkness for the prisoners.” This verse reminds me that every counseling moment can become a space where God meets us with compassion and renewal.

In sessions, I often invite clients to reflect on Scripture—sometimes reading verses together, journaling through passages, or exploring how biblical truths shape identity and belonging. These moments of reflection help clients see how faith and emotional health work hand in hand: as the heart heals, the spirit strengthens.

Counseling, to me, is a sacred calling. It’s an honor to witness how God restores what was broken, renews hope, and reminds each person of their immeasurable worth in Him.

Why Wide Awake Therapy?

I founded Wide Awake Therapy to help individuals experience emotional healing and spiritual renewal through compassionate, evidence-based care. The name Wide Awake Therapy comes from the belief that healing begins when we awaken to the truth of who we are in Christ—loved, seen, and whole. In therapy, being “wide awake” means becoming aware of the stories we carry, the patterns that shape us, and the freedom God invites us into. My hope is that each session becomes a space where clients experience emotional healing, spiritual renewal, and a deeper awareness of God’s restoring presence.

At Wide Awake Therapy, I believe every person is created in the image of God and worthy of love and restoration. My mission is to help you break through shame and self-doubt and rebuild a life that feels whole, grounded, and rooted in God’s truth.

My Approach

My therapeutic approach is relational, experiential, and deeply collaborative. I believe healing unfolds in the context of safety, insight, and connection—where structure and compassion work hand in hand.

Therapeutic Style & Specialties

As an EMDR-trained therapist, I integrate Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), and trauma-informed care, along with mindfulness and DBT-informed skills, to support emotional regulation and relational growth. I also incorporate narrative and experiential methods—such as guided imagery, reflective writing, and values-based exercises—to help clients find clarity, meaning, and renewal in their stories.

Your Journey, Your Pace

Healing is not a race. Every story unfolds differently, and our work together will honor your timing, your needs, and your readiness for change. Whether you’re beginning to explore what feels broken or continuing the work of rebuilding, therapy becomes a space for grace—where growth happens one honest step at a time.
