I grew up in a church-going home and over time developed an interest in the way people think and behave.  One of the ways I found God growing me was acting in mercy and compassion and I decided I could apply both caring and analytical skills to reaching out to others in their distress.  I was careful to choose training that would help me interpret rigorous sciences through a Christian lens, which prepared me for both professional practice and integration with solid doctrine.  A key biblical passage that I believe is foundational to mental health is Philippians 4:11-12 where we are taught that ultimately we can be content regardless of the circumstances in which we find ourselves.  I enjoy a thoughtful approach to creating an environment where we can discover the numerous dynamics involved in our functioning and employ biblical understanding for wholeness and emotional peace.
