My approach to therapy is client-centered, meaning I utilize a variety of techniques and approaches tailored to each individual. Your goals and what works best for you guide our sessions. I frequently assess progress with you and adjust my approach as needed. As a systems-trained, trauma-informed therapist, including EMDR-trained, I see us all as influenced and changed by the many systems we are a part of, such as community, family, and social media. Therapy is about you. I often say that you are the expert on your life, and what you want to get out of therapy is largely dependent on your goals and needs. If you’re feeling stuck or like something just isn’t right and needs to change, we can work together to figure that out. I look forward to the opportunity to support you on your journey to healing and growth. In terms of faith- I don’t believe I can be a therapist aside without using aspects of my faith- and I believe faith is integral to the therapy process. It can be integrated however you feel most comfortable, whether that is scripture, prayer, lessons we all have learned and need to continue to learn from the Bible- this is up to you. We will discuss all of that at your free 15 minute consultation, or in your first session.
