My journey into counseling is a testament to the transformative power of faith and the resilience of the human spirit. At Beyond the Chair, I believe that true healing occurs when evidence-based clinical mastery meets the unwavering truth of Scripture.

The Three Pillars of My Practice

Relationship with God: The Source of Comfort My work is built on the foundation of 2 Corinthians 1:3-4. I believe that we are comforted by the “Father of compassion” so that we may, in turn, comfort others. Every session is an invitation to experience the healing presence of God, moving from “walking on eggshells” to standing on the firm foundation of His love.

Stewardship: Honoring the Gift of Clinical Expertise I view my multidisciplinary credentials—LMHC, LMFT, NCC, CCMHC, and MCAP—as a form of holy stewardship. Being entrusted with your story requires the highest level of professional rigor. By staying at the forefront of trauma-informed care and addiction recovery, I honor the talents God has provided to ensure you receive the most effective, sophisticated care available.

Serving God through the Work: Walking the Path Together Serving God means walking alongside individuals, couples, and clinicians as they reclaim their narratives. Whether I am helping a client navigate the root causes of trauma or supervising a clinician in developing their “therapeutic voice,” my goal is to facilitate a life surrendered to God’s plan—a plan that promises hope and a future (Jeremiah 29:11).

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.” — Proverbs 3:5-6

Why “Beyond the Chair”?

To move “beyond the chair” is to move past traditional, detached dynamics and into a space of genuine, insight-driven connection. It is where we replace survival skills with lasting resilience and clinical theory with operational reality. Whether you are a client seeking wholeness or a clinician seeking mastery, you don’t have to navigate this path alone.
