Megan was born and raised in Nebraska, with deep family roots and a part of her heart still there. From as early as she can remember, Megan has loved God and loved people. She is drawn to and sincerely interested in people’s stories and life experiences. Her unwavering faith and loving upbringing provided a solid foundation and passionate endurance to journey through and untangle her own life’s pain; her own life experiences brought her to a place which desires to help others do the same. Megan has loved Colorado since she was a child, and has felt blessed to call it home for 20+ years. Megan is an active Christian, wife, mother, grandmother, counselor, and friend. In her free time she loves to worship (in her car, at church, anywhere really), care for her husband of 24 years (who has been battling stage four cancer for more than two years), travel (to the mountains and the beach), read (favorite authors include Karen Kingsbury and Francine Rivers, but lately spends most of her time entrenched in material aimed to help deepen therapeutic approaches), she longs to take nice long walks, and deeply cherishes simple moments with loved ones. Megan and her husband have one grown daughter, and one daughter in heaven due to her struggles with substance use disorder, along with three precious granddaughters that they feel blessed to share their time with. Megan received a Bachelor of Science in Psychology degree in 2014 and graduated from Colorado Christian University in 2016, with her Master of Arts in Counseling degree. Megan’s area of focus for continued studies is concentrated on relationships and trauma. Relationships may include, but obviously not limited to: dating/engaged/married/divorced couples, siblings, parent-child, families, in-laws, extended and blended families. Megan’s professional passion and therapeutic focus is aimed to relieve and heal the impact that trauma (abuse, grief, loss, anxiety, depression, addictions, etc) may currently have on your most significant and intimate relationships. Megan’s therapeutic approach is both collaborative and integrative. She believes in the exploration process of a client’s narrative and personal story. Megan is certified in EMDR therapy, and uses it daily as an extremely effective tool. She continues to research and study relationships and trauma, human sexuality, bodywork, neuroscience, EFT and DBT. Megan’s constant prayer is to remain connected to the Holy Spirit, allowing His work to be accomplished through her time with clients.
