My name is Lauren Trogdon. I’m a wife and a mom to three incredible children. I find joy in the simple, everyday moments.  Whether it’s time spent with family, being in nature, or connecting with animals. These moments are where I often feel closest to God.

For over 20 years, I’ve walked alongside children and families through some of life’s most difficult seasons. In my roles as a developmental therapist and family support case worker, I’ve witnessed the beauty of resilience and the power of hope firsthand. Long before I held a title or license, this work was my ministry—rooted in compassion, empathy, and a deep sense of calling.

I hold a Bachelor of Science in Child Development and Family Relations, with concentrations in Psychology and Communication Disorders. I also earned a Master’s in Ministry with a focus in Pastoral Counseling from Andersonville Theological Seminary, and I’m a Licensed Temperament Counselor. These tools allow me to counsel the whole person body, mind, and spirit, through a Biblical lens.

Abide Counseling Services was born out of hope, courage, and the desire to create a safe, grace-filled space for individuals, couples, and families to process their pain, ask questions, and walk out their healing journey at their own pace. My counseling is centered on the truth that abiding in Christ brings true freedom, wholeness, and transformation.

I specialize in working with children, youth, women, and families navigating anxiety, trauma, emotional and behavioral struggles, relationship challenges, grief, and loss. I have a special heart for those parenting through trauma or navigating the journey of healing after deep pain.

Through Temperament Therapy, I help clients discover who God created them to be before life’s circumstances shaped their patterns and perceptions. This self-awareness often becomes the starting point for transformation and healing.

As a Christian counselor, my approach is rooted in Biblical truth. I believe that true healing comes not just through insight and technique, but through a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.. While I never force faith on my clients, I lovingly encourage a deeper dependency on God and seek His guidance through prayer and Scripture throughout our work together.

Insurance companies require diagnosis codes that become part of your permanent health record. By not billing insurance, I’m able to offer support free from the limitations and constraints of the healthcare system.
