Hello!

My name is Inga Eanes. I am a licensed LISW therapist. I attended University of St. Thomas, St. Paul, MN and graduated in 2020 with a masters in Clinical Social Work.  I love to work in the area of healing old trauma’s and helping clients realize how amazing they really are.  Up until recently I have worked in a clinical group setting, serving a community that has co-occurring conditions of generational mental health diagnosis, trauma and substance abuse. My approach over all is eclectic while leaning heavily on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. By  applying deep listening, reflecting back, and helping my clients hear the areas of their hearts they weren’t listening to, my clients began to see results over time. I help clients learn coping skills to manage distress between sessions. I also try to respect the relationship between my client and their pastor.

Within the clinical care relationship, I let the client lead in regards to how much they want scripture or prayer intertwined into the session. I apply my gifts of exhortation, encouragement, mercy and prophesy in the therapy session. I don’t intend to take the place of pastoral care and will refer my client to explore some topics more with their own community leaders.

As for my own Christian walk: I was raised and confirmed in the Lutheran church. However, parents and siblings had pretty much stopped going to church while I chose to continue. They would drop me off for catechism class or youth group or youth choir practice. Our home was pretty secular. I did not see praying or hear any talk about faith, Jesus or God beyond Sunday School. I was not taught in the home how to pray. We prayed on special occasions like before the holiday meal. Maybe you can relate to my experience.  I believe my public pronouncement of accepting Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior after catechism finished set me a apart as a believer and Jesus did not let me go, even though I wondered away from him. I chased the secular life and the god of success to gain the approval of my parents. I did not live as a Christian in my young adult years. The experience of being lost helps me understand what can happen to us when we step outside of the Arc of protection; God’s boundaries for our lives. He knows us so well and what can help us be successful in life done His way as we are sojourners on this earth. in 1999, my husband I were guided by the Holy Spirit into the Eastern Orthodox Church. This made a profound difference in how I see myself and the world and healing.  At age 30, I entered an abuse recovery program called Life Skills International developed by Dr. Paul Hegstrom. The program teaches psychological principals that line up with scripture. I spent 3 years unwinding the restraint of false concepts presented to me as reality while growing up. I was able to let go of the ways of my family of origin and recover from what I now understand was emotional and psychological abuse possibly because of their neurodivergence and trauma.  The abuse recovery program along with the Orthodox Church helped me make sense of my own sinful behaviors and come to a place of healthier insights and approaches to people and life. The more I applied scripture to my circumstances and wounds, the more I have found internal peace, reducing my stress responses and mental health symptoms.

I hope this summary is helpful and that we can meet in the near future!
